Blame It On Me is the first solo song released in 2014 after a 6 year hiatus by Jeremiah the Dreamer. Blame It On Me is an idea I had after finding a very sick beat off of the net by who knows who… LOL. As soon as I heard the beat I was thinking about my kids, including my unborn baby. The song starts with verse one being me rapping to my unborn child, and finishing with verse two me talking to all three of my children. Very cool and touching song. Potentially my best and most meaningful to date.
Just a Thought is a new song, recorded and released in January of 2014 by Double Flawless featuring Jeremiah the Dreamer and Illicit. After a five year hiatus, caused by the retirement of Jeremiah the Dreamer, Double Flawless decided to reunite and bring the fire once again. There is many more to come, Jeremiah the Dreamer and Illicit are both working on solo albums, as well as working on the Double Flawless album at the same time. Here we go!!!
The Black Album by Jeremiah the Dreamer 2014 is a best of mix tape that features the 20 hottest solo tracks from the Dreamer between 2000 and 2008. I released this to show where I have been up to this point, to feature the songs I love to remember, and to show you where I am going.
Double Flawless is a rap duo formed in 2007 featuring Jeremiah the Dreamer and Illicit. They released their self titled debut in 2008 which was 20 tracks of fire and to this day can not be matched by the likes of the hip hop scene in Michigan. Some of the songs that are really sick that I still care about are: Born in the City, Fat Bottom Girls, Just Can’t Wait and Reckless.
Jeremiah the Dreamer – The Self Titled mix tape was released in late 2007, right before the release of the Double Flawless mixtape. Super tight project, it embodied a few great songs from the “From Hell To Redemption” mixtape, as well as a few from the “Double Flawless” mixtape, and then some additions. Really great album, you should download it and see for yourself.
From Hell to Redemption is most def my favorite solo effort to date. I had one more mixtape after this a self titled effort, but it mostly embodied what was here with only a couple of additions. This was my first mixtape after taking a 5 or 6 year hiatus. There are so many songs here that I love it is ridiculous. The ones I really like are Awakening, Always, Never Enough Time and Rep Yourself. The album overall was a very cool idea, From Hell to Redemption, from the bottom to the top. I will never forget this, I know I can do better, but this one is hard to top.
Dirty Sanchez was a three piece rock group out of Muskegon, MI featuring Ryan Frost, Mike Browers aka “Left Handed Jacker” and Billy aka “Jigga Ray” – I did a few different songs with them, which we performed live many times and something I will never forget.
Fortified Committee was a short lived rap group that was formed in 2001 by Muskegon rappers Jeremiah the Dreamer, Dave Rawlee, Mike Smith, Jake Rockwell, Rory Deblake aka Triple Dipped, and Robbie McFly. The mixtape ended up at 9 songs and truly is a hip hop classic. Notable songs that I still remember and really care about are: Another Emcee, Solar Eclipse and 5 Emcees. Although it was short lived, I really look back at this time and think about how strong it made me as a rapper. All songs where produced by either Jeremiah the Dreamer or Mike Smith.
“Mood Swings” was finished and released in 2001 and was the second mixtape by Jeremiah the Dreamer. Very cool idea, a concept album, that would swing your mood as I went back and forth, song by song from positive to negative, up to down. Notable songs that I still think about and like are: You’ve Got A Choice, Life Is What You Make It, 1,000 Yo’s and Can’t Stop. This was a very cool time for me as it was when I really started to reach out to other emcees in the area and met the others that would make up Fortified Committee which ended up being my first group.
“Illogic” – Was the first mixtape that Jeremiah the Dreamer put out. It grew from 1998-2000 ending up at 13 songs and is truly a hip hop classic. Notable songs that I really care about and remember where Kaliedoscope Eyes, Smoking Roaches, Impress You and Pissed Off. This really was the beginning for me. I produced every track on this album, playing guitar and bass on many, as well as sampling and making drum beats on all of them. This is where I started to find my sound and really my confidence.
